Japanese Equipment Audit

The Japanese Government together with National Department of Health visited LUDWM Hospital recently to check the equipment that they donated in 2002 to this institution. Their visit was also meant to evaluate the progress made and to check on new projects that they can offer their help in improving the situation in the hospital.

The representative from the Japan Government, Mr Y Tanaka was impressed with the way LUDWMH managed their equipment. In his short speech he mentioned that his Government is doing this to improve health care system in Uthungulu Health District and to improve the lives of the people in the area.

“We have to ensure that the maintenance and utilization of our equipment is of high standards and there is a guarantee that these machines are serviceable in South Africa”, concluded Tanaka.

Speaking on the behalf of the National Department of Health Ms Tsakane Mnisi praised LUDWMH for taking good care of the Japanese equipment and said the Department must convert LUDWMH from being the hospital to a learning center.

Dr SS Ngozo, the acting Hospital Manager thanked the Japanese Government for helping his institution. He promised them that his institution will take care of all the equipment and maintain it.
“There are a lot of challenges we are facing as an institution but we make sure that Staff members are taught about these machines when they join the institution. So far out of the 49 machines that were donated only 2 machines were condemned and proof of this is available. We have a good record system and they are all traceable”, concluded Dr Ngozo.
