Workers Celebrate Literacy

My name is Elizabeth Ngcobo. I am 62 years old. I am working at Addington Hospital. I started attending ABET in 2004. I was assessed and pleased in level (four) 4.

In my class we are 16 students and we learn communication in English, Math’s and Life Orientation. In April this year we wrote English paper and we all passed. Among us only (four) 4 learners passed with higher credit and the rest with credit.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our educators, Abet Co-ordinators and our management who always encourage us to keep learning.

My advice to learners and staff members who think that Abet cannot help them should now take this opportunity that you did not have before.

The Harry Gwala stadium was packed with ABET learners from various government departments who came to celebrate International Literacy Day. From the Department of Agriculture, ABET facilitator Bonisile Gcaba and her student, Emelda Makwakwa, in the middle is the ABET facilitator from the Premiers office, Pam Pillay, and Morgan Govender,  a facilitator from Addington hospital, stands next to his student, Elizabeth Ngcobo
