Selection Scoring: Doctors who have already submitted their CVs have been graded according to a fixed formula taking into account the HR rules of the Department of Health. Additional credit has been given for items such as possession of ATLS/ACLS/APLS qualifications, for research and audit experience, for time spent at rural hospitals.

A second Principal Specialist post in anaesthesia for the Newcastle/Madadeni complex has been advertised.
Additionally Two Specialist posts in anaesthesia for the Newcastle/Madadeni complex have been advertised

Senior Specialist posts will shortly be advertised.
Medical Officer posts are available immediately. These will be very suitable for doctors wishing to write the DA in March 2009.
PMO posts and a CMO post in anaesthesia at Northdale Hospital will shortly be advertised. These posts will include some opportunity for work in the regional and tertiary components, but will have calls at Northdale Hospital.
A principal medical officer post for each of Grey’s and Edendale hospitals will be advertised. Applicants for these posts are expected to have a high level of commitment to the respective hospitals and to make a contribution to the management of anaesthetic and ICU services at each hospital.

The department is in the process of allocating Medical Officer Posts for DA training in January 2008. Please ensure that you have registered your interest. Further posts may become available in March or April 2008
