Teenage Pregnancy Awareness in Mthonjaneni area

According to the National Health Calendar, the month of February features ‘Pregnancy Awareness Week’ . Social Workers at KwaMagwaza Hospital, (Phumlile Mlambo & Nokuvela Hadebe), conducted Teenage Pregnancy Awareness at some of the schools at Mthonjaneni area from 16 - 19 February 2010. Schools visited were: KwaGcongco Primary School, Gqokubukhosi High School, Sizanotho Primary School, Ncaphayi High school, Ndabanhle Primary school, and Isitheku High School.

The Social Workers’ presentations covered the causes of teenage pregnancy, effects of teenage pregnancy, prevention of teenage pregnancy, and how to face the consequences of teenage pregnancy.

Social Workers worked hand in hand with our Intern PRO, Sabelo Ngobese who helped with the coverage of the Teenage Pregnancy Awareness, and we made a great team!
