• Was built in 1937
• Training school started in 1959
• Nurses home built 1960- 1962
• Female general ward built in 1973-1974
• Kwa-Zulu Government took over on 01 September 1978

• The Hospital is at present authorized for 196 beds.

• There is a maternity ward, operating theatre and CSSD.
