People of KZN to benefit the most from graduation of nearly 1500 nurses

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health’s efforts to boost the public’s access to primary healthcare will be further enhanced when KZN Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, welcomes aboard 1416 new nurses, who will be graduating on the 12th and 13th of October 2017.

The annual graduation ceremony will take place at the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg.

The nurses have qualified in various categories, including those where skills are scarce, such as Advanced Midwifery, Orthopaedic Nursing Science, Operating Theatre Technique, Critical Care Nursing, Child Care Nursing Science, Ophthalmic Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, among others.

The ceremony will see a total of 1416 nurses graduating from 25 campuses and sub-campuses of the KwaZulu-Natal College of Nursing.

Top learners who achieved the highest marks will also receive special awards.

Members of the media are invited to attend and report on the occasion, including the delivery of a speech by KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, which will take place as follows:
