2009 Annual Awards Day Presentation : Osisdiweni hospital

Osindisweni Hospital’s 3rd Annual Awards Day presentation was held on 4 September 2009.

It was special day for Long Service recipients, personnel that have graduated through departmental learner-ship programmes as well as those that had undertaken skills programmes.

Especially noteworthy are our 5 ABET level 4 learners registered with the Department of Education who have since completed their level 4 certificate with flying colours, each of them attaining distinctions in the various subjects.  The current level 4 learners have also excelled and done equally well, also attaining distinctions in their examinations undertaken in October 2008 and June 2009.  Their commitment and close monitoring by Co-ordinators have paid off doing this hospital proud and making a success of this program.  Those who have exited were awarded engraved trophies by the institution whilst the others were awarded medals as well as trophies for their achievements provided by the Department of Education.

The Program Director is an exiting ABET learner further echoing their hidden talent.

HRD and Staff Relations sang to the tune of Heritage Day later this month and creatively came up with a theme event called “African Fusion” with the foyer area decked out against an eastern background and the hall in an African setup.  The financial constraints of the Department did not prove a setback for this innovative team.  Their hard work and efforts in fundraising made this event a reality.

All guests including our special guests, Ms L. Ndlela (HRD, Head Office) and Hospital Board member, Mr Mthiyane were mesmerized by the exquisite atmosphere, stunning décor, layout, and the elegance and perfection to detail given to everything from the time they entered to the moment they left.  This was an event of great magnitude and awesome splendor thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.

Special thanks and appreciation go to all the people behind the scenes, especially the Catering staff who enthusiastically came to the party in the display and provision of divine meals and to the staff for their contributions and for actively supporting all the fundraising initiatives.
