I matriculated at Stanger Manor Secondary School following which; I completed my BA Law at the Durban Westville University, now known as the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Thereafter, I completed my LLB and was admitted as an Attorney of the High in 1996. Thereafter, I practiced for my own account for a period of time. I then joined the Road Accident Fund for a short period and then joined the HPCSA as a Legal Admin Officer. I was thereafter promoted to Legal Advisor, where my job content entailed the prosecution of disciplinary enquiries against registered persons for the various Professional Boards. I was thereafter promoted to the position of Senior Manager of the Legal Unit, following which I joined the Department of Health as Manager: Legal Services Unit in March 2004. I held this position until my appointment as General Manager of the unit recently. I currently hold a LLM in Medical Law and also have other short courses which include a Programme in Business Management: Certificate in Medicine and Law; Certificate in Legislative Drafting and a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law. My hobbies include reading and cooking.
