Archive of Activities at St. Apollinaris hospital
St. Apollinaris Hospital held a Youth Awareness day on the
23 October 2006, youth from the surrounding communities were invited. The
aim of the event was to educate the Youth about Health issues and topics
like HIV/AIDS, TB, Drug Abuse, Rape, STI’s, teenage pregnancy and various
other health issues that were in the programme. The children from
surrounding schools entertained the audience with dramas relevant to the
above health issues followed by cultural dances and song praising about
topical health issues.
In an attempt to attain the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) status, St. Apollinaris embarked on a campaign to attract concerned bodies to assess the Hospital accordingly. The event ran concurrently with World Breastfeeding Week (from 1 – 7 August) and delegates from various institutions were present to witness this prestigious event. The aim of the day was to create awareness of the importance of Breastfeeding. St. Apollinaris aims to promote, protect and support breastfeeding in the hospital and surrounding community.
