Key Result Areas

• Promote effective syndromic management of STIs in all health facilities in the province

• Increase STI partner notification to 100% in the province

• Improve partner tracing rate in all the districts to set targets

• Increase male and female condom distribution to set standards

• Promote Health seeking behaviour, safer sex practices by establishment of High Transmission Area Intervention services in all districts.

Services offered

• Management of STI at health facility level

• Promote and distribute male and female condoms through health facilities and non traditional outlets

• Provide health services especially control and management of STIs for truck drivers and their partners

• Training and update of health workers

• Develop and distribute IEC material specific to the prevention and early detection of STIs

Target audience

•  All clients/patients presenting at health facility level for treatment
• Truck drivers, commercial sex workers

• Tugela truck stop wellness centre - Uthukela district
• Mooi River truck stop wellness centre - Umgungundlovu district
• Marburg truck stop wellness centre - Ugu district
• Kokstad truck stop wellness centre - Sisonke district
• Pongola truck stop wellness centre - Zululand district
• eThekwini truck stop wellness centre - eThekwini district
