The hospital is serving 26 wards under its catchment area with the staff compliment of 632. Eshowe District Hospital serves as a referral hospital to 6 Clinics and HAST clinic within the hospital.
The hospital is located in a semi urban area and for amenities there is Eshowe Mall which is 1km from the hospital, Dlinza Forest Broad walk 2,5km from the hospital which can be enjoyed by families, individuals, couples or friends can have a picnic and learn more about different kinds of birds found in Dlinza. For unwinding and enjoying the weekend there is a local shisanyama which is 4km from the hospital and 17km away there is Shaka Land where one can learn about history of King Shaka and the Zulu Heritage.
