Amajuba Health District

Amajuba health district is located in the north-western part of KwaZulu-Natal with Mpumulanga province to the north, Free State to the west and Zululand, Umzinyathi and Uthukela Districts as neighbouring districts to the south and east. The district, through the District Health System (DHS), provides health services to the population using the Primary Health Care (PHC) approach. This is done by facilities at different levels of health care

There are 3 provincial hospitals ( Madadeni, Newcastle and Niemeyer Memorial), 1 private hospital, 6 (24 hour) clinics, 12 (10 hour) clinics, 19 provincial fixed clinics, 2 municipal clinics, 7 mobile clinics, 1 private fixed clinic and 3 gateway clinics that serve the district population.

The district staff compliment had been structured in line with the Employment Equity Act with consideration of race and disability All facilities within the health district render a service following Batho Pele principles.

Each and every health facility has a compliment mechanism and suggestion box available for patients to raise their concerns about the service offered to them an "open-door" policy to listen and answer all queries promptly.
