Christ the King is a district hospital located in the beautiful rolling hills of Ixopo, the town made famous by the internationally acclaimed novel “Cry the Beloved Country” by Alan Paton. It is approximately 90kms from Pietermaritzburg and 150kms from Durban. Map showing location of the hospital

The town itself is a bustling little community with 2 primary schools, a high school, numerous shopping facilities and an internet café amongst other things. Ixopo is blessed with breathtaking natural beauty. One is able to drive in any direction and be sure to come across numerous outdoor activities including hiking in the Drakensburg, horse riding, fishing and mountain biking.  For those who prefer a more urban setting to relax and unwind, the town boasts a 9-hole-golf course, tennis courts and both a rugby and soccer club.
