GJ Crookes Hospital is situated in the Umdoni Local Municipality under UGU District and covers an area of 2 470 square km. It is about 50km from the city of Durban and 65 km from Port Shepstone on the South Coast. The hospital is bordered by Umkomaas River on the North and the Umzumbe River on the South, Highflats on the west and the Indian Ocean on the East. It serves 3 local municipalities namely Umdoni, Vulamehlo and Umzumbe.
