	Mahatma Gandhi Memorial is a district/regional hospital committed to providing a comprehensive, sustainable, co-coordinated and integrated District/ Regional health service to the community within our catchments area in line with Batho Pele principles and the Patient’s Right Charter. This 350 bedded hospital is in a process of developing towards a full regional hospital package. Presently it renders surgery, orthopedics, general outpatients and crisis centre at district level. Internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology and paediatrics are rendered at regional level. The hospital intends to strengthen the existing regional services before developing the other district services to regional level. It is envisaged that the full commissioning of the two INK district hospitals will influence the defaulting of district services from Mahatma Gandhi thus allowing it to develop towards rendering a full regional package of services.
